Perfect Day

JBP couldn't have been a better little traveler today. The little guy continues to amaze me.

On the road, we all listened to a taped version of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (about 4 hours long) and just about every time we made a pit stop he was eager to get back in the car so he could hear more of the 'story'.

Shortly after departure I'd tried to call Grammy to check on something. She wasn't in her office. She called back a couple hours later. (The entire trip.. not counting pit stops... was about 6 hours.)

JBP wanted to talk to her. During their conversation he very politely asked her to tape E.R. for me, at 9 p.m. He'd heard me discussing it earlier with Der Deutscher and remembered! Such a little sweetie.

We got to Ames just in time to drop our stuff off and head to Hilton for some Basketball.

Great game! I can't say much more than that. We beat our instate rivals by double digits! With incredible performances from our five starters, who combined played 185 minutes out of a possible 200. All five had double digit scoring. It was great.

JBP continued to work his 'magic' and talked a mini-bullhorn (or whatever you call those cones male cheerleaders yell into) out of a college student sitting in Cyclone Alley. By the time we'd left Ames, JBP had gotten two of the ladies to sign his bullhorn.

All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better day.
