The Dump

When JBP and I go to the gym we always park in the corner of the lot farthest from the building. I figure we're going to get exercise, why not start with a warm-up walk across the parking lot.

JBP likes it, cause he can travel completely solo--first on grass then on the sidewalk. No need to wait for slow old momma.

What he doesn't like is that someone, or someones, has chosen to use this back corner of the lot as a dumping ground.

He always has to pick his way around piles of trash: old pop bottles, candy wrappers, etc. He always comments on the "rudeness" of whoever is doing the dumping.

Today he said, "Momma, who thinks this is a landfill?"

He also worries every time we throw something in the trash. His constant comment, "Momma, you should recycle that. Recycling is good for the 'vironment."

My environmentally concious young man.
