Word Games

This morning one of our photographers suggested a new t-shirt as a prize for winning employee of the month. It would say, "I am ruly, dignant and gruntled."

This word play got us all to thinking about some of the weird things we tend to say, or have heard said, in the news.

Such as: untimely death. Is there any such thing as a timely death?

Shot by a jealous husband. Has a non-jealous husband ever shot his wife?

Joint Simulcast

Unexpected surprise

Completely destroyed

By the time we'd compiled this list we were all dying of laughter. Usually from the snide comments made about the oxymorons.

Feel free to add any redundant, oxymoronic sayings you've heard recently.

Actually, I've found that in God's good grace there is such a thing as a timely death, when you think, "God knew what He was doing." It's all too rare, but it can happen.

Now if I could just figure out what it means to "nearly miss."
