New Friend

Friends of mine from church are welcoming a new family member this week. He was born this Sabbath evening.

Little BCC is the end result of two devout christians who found each other halfway across the world, married and wanted children.

See Mom is from Moldova while Dad is a born American.

Both were in their thirties and wanted to marry and have children but had had little luck finding a partner. They checked out a church singles chat group, met each other online, met in person and eventually agreed to marry.

Many poo-poohed the whole thing, saying they moved to quickly and didn't know enough about each other to make a marriage work.

The thing is, as long as folks are honest, meeting on paper first, setting out your priorities for life and finding someone with the same goals is actually a pretty good idea.

I would never give up Der Deutscher. Would I change some things in our relationship? Heck yeah!

I would've been more forthright about my desires for children and gotten a more concrete family plan in place before moving ahead with the relationship. It would've saved a lot of future heartache.

So, congratulations to the newest Mom and Dad in my church family. You're doing good!
