Overheard in the newsroom shortly after another story broke in a rural county more than two hours away.
A female reporter who spent most of last week on a similar assignment was told she was headed out, again!
(Imagine a male voice imitating the announcer from The Price Is Right.)
"AM, come on down! You've been scheduled for a *XYZ overnight. Free food at any fast food restaurant. You'll sleep a half hour tonight at the local fleabag hotel."
I'm still laughing two hours later!
